It's here!

Hear that? That's the sound of a hallelujah chorus playing in celebration  Yup.  You guessed right, a miracle has occurred, the paint has arrived! Six tins of painty fun! Though no wallpaper. And they forgot one of the roller tray sets. But never mind! Because most of it is here and for now that will keep me happy :) We've already started on the top half of the living room, a gorgeous clean white, and the bottom half will be started on next week in Country Blue, i'll do a wee tour when it's finished :) The reason it won't be done until next week is because the plaster needs at least 4 weeks curing before it can be painted on. Irritating when i just want to get on with it lol To keep myself busy i painted my little telephone table   and the basket below is halfway through being painted, i'm waiting for it to dry before i do the next coat. I also painted my "Dresser" and how lovely it looks now :) the paint h

Easter Gift Swap and Bargains

Hi guys :) I've spent all day in the kitchen today and loved every second of it :) I've picked up a few bargains this week firstly, the most amazing book from a charity shop, full of wonderful recipes, including preserving pickling and home-brewing I found 2 bags of pears , reduced to clear at 29p per bag and 2 bags of pumpkin seed bread mix for 19p each :) I made some rolls with the bread mix and i am happy to report they are delicious! We shall be having some with soup for supper.  I had a funny moment when i put the mix into the bread maker, the lid decided to slam down onto my fingers, and even though it hurt it reminded me so much of the till from Open All Hours i got a fit of the giggles and couldn't stop! It wasn't even all that funny, but that just made me giggle more! Tonight i went back to have a look for more bargains, but i went too early to get anything really cheap and trailed back home with another bread mix, a mixed grain one this

Bits and Pieces

Hi all :) Life is going at a gentle pace for once, which will probably soon change once our paint etc is delivered (fingers crossed for tomorrow!!) and i have been enjoying a bit of crocheting :)  Like this adorable tea cozy, which i am immensely pleased with Working on the next one The colours reminded me of Cornish-Ware  (Handsome Bearded Wonder in the background :)  ) I also made a little wreath, it's rather skinny as it's an old embroidery hoop , but it works.  I've also got a "new" kitchen dresser, as you know i'm the mistress of improvisation ;)   The computer table and the pantry shelves are now happily residing in the kitchen, and shall look much nicer when they are painted. As our kitchen is so skinny this was the best picture i could get and i had to lean over the sink to get it hahaha :D   I'm also going to take off the doors and have some form of curtain going across instead

Happy days- Yarning Along

Hi guys :D Life has gone back to it's normal pace, busy one week and slow the next, which is what i like :)  Lots of things have been happening this week, but first, to my most exiting news... Look what we have! (The Bearded Wonders' amazingly hairy legs in the background) A good friend who runs the clothing bank put a shout out on Facebook and turned up this electric cooker! I jumped around the living room and nearly made the Bearded Wonder jump out of his skin haha :D Of course, i immediately cooked scones in celebration and some bread :) (i also finally remembered to buy a cooling rack: 99p from Home Bargains) I've been pickling this week too. I made sweet pickled cucumbers (perfect on a burger! Yummy!)                     And some pickled eggs What a pain to peel them all haha These jars are amazing, they're a pickling vinegar and cost £1.52 which isn't too bad really. I'm going to be buying
